Website youth.hr gathers resources of local youth organizations, promotes various topics from the life of youth and cohabitation, informs about events and grants, enables youth to find information of interest to them as well as to find appropriate partners for their projects and activities.
The aim of the project youth.hr is to secure an integrated approach to existing information resources on Internet as well as to secure on-line information service for promotion of local youth organisations that still do not have their own website.Members of ATLAS youth organisation have participated in numerous national and international seminars and conferences on topic of youth participation in the society. Existence of a website that would inform, post calls for proposals, educate and connect youth organisations in Croatia using virtual space, emerged as one of the needs that youth, attending above mentioned seminars and conferences, have observed. The youth, searching Internet in order to find the list of youth organisations active in their area are unable to find it, due to non-existence of such website.
The project youth.hr is a response to the needs of youth. Youth.hr gathers resources of local youth organisations, promotes various topics from the life of youth, educates, informs about events and grants, enables users to find information of interest to them as well as to find appropriate partners for their projects and activities.
Mentioned website has an important role in securing space for potential project development, in collaboration with interested partners. In other words, the virtual laboratory has been established that gather interested youth from Croatia, with the aim of improving the process of informing the youth. The project started by connecting youth organisations from Sibensko-kninska county. Today, it forms a network of over 20 youth organisations from all over Croatia and there is a growing interest in it.
The importance of this project was recognized by many international donors that supported it. For the website creation the youth organisation has secured funds from the European Commision CARDS 2002 programme and from the British Embassy, Department for International Development, in the scope of the project «Support to the development of successful democratic and pluralist communities».
Additionally, the project was supported by USAID (United State Agency for International Development) through the AED (Academy for Educational Development) programme and the Ministry of family, war veterans and intergenerational solidarity.
AIM OF THE PROJECT
The aim of the project is to strengthen connections between youth organisations in Croatia, especially in the areas of special state concern, and to inform the youth about their current status and possibilities of resolving their problems.

q to promote various topics in the field of volunteering, environmental protection, etc.
In the area of special state concern in Croatia there is a certain number of youth organisations. As they are active at the local level, the information flow among them is very weak, and sometimes non-existent. Organisations have difficulties in getting information on donors, calls for proposals, seminars etc., because there is no specific website providing such information. This situation is misleading to the perception of youth as inactive and lacking transparency in their work. Further, there is lack of mutual activities of organisations that eventually leads to the loss of members or even disappearance of some organisations.
